about the project
The “Eat Good Cafe” cafeteria redesign for this two serving line PreK-6th grade elementary school transformed the space into an environment of imagination, learning, social interaction and friendship.
Working with our production partner ABC Signs, we used cultural and historical moments in time to highlight the diverse, creative and innovative character of the city of Dayton to the students. “It started Here” pinpoints historical Dayton inventions including the first ladder & first cash register while “Did You Know” points out interesting facts about the city such as the 5 rivers converge at the Five Rivers Fountain. Inspirational and character-building words like courage, grace, responsibility, respect and unity were layered throughout surrounding wall graphics. Encouraging quotes and photos promoting healthy eating are displayed around the serving area, while innovative LED components were used to produce the retro styled open faced channel letters and directional arrow located at the entrance to the cafe.
