The “Did You Know & It Started Here” cafeteria redesign for this two serving line PreK-6th grade elementary school transformed the space into an environment of imagination, learning, social interaction and friendship.
Cultural and historical moments in time were used to enlighten the student body to the diverse, creative and innovative character of Dayton. “It started Here” highlights historical Dayton inventions including the first ladder & first cash register while “Did You Know” points out interesting facts about the city such as 5 rivers converge downtown at the Five Rivers Fountain. Inspirational and character-building words like courage, grace, responsibility, respect and unity were layered throughout surrounding wall graphics. Encouraging quotes and photos promoting healthy eating are displayed around the serving area.
