Conroe, TX
about the project
“The Power Station” cafeteria at Conroe High School, received a $1 million facility renovation to the kitchen, serving line and dining facility. A graphic design package was coordinated with the owner, project architect and equipment consultant in an effort to work with the pre-designed floor plan and equipment layout. Our design efforts included the development of all graphics, signage, color palette and merchandising within the food service department.
The facility accommodates 5 foodcourt style service windows, a vending alcove and seating. Our goal was to create an environment that was conducive to social interaction with the intention to increase participation and sales. Each of the logo brands were specifically developed and marketed for use at the high school only, thereby invoking a feeling of proprietary pride for Conroe High School students.
Large scale graphics, bold colors and industrial finishes were used to create an “edgy age-specific theme” that targeted 14-18 year old students. Each serving venue was developed with a unique theme and reinforced with signage mounted to faux steel I-beams. A small gathering space within the vending alcove included extreme sports murals and heavy galvanized accent furnishings. Restaurant concepts include: Fasttrack – vending, Livewire – Snack bar, Electric Avenue – Hot bar, Firefly Deli – sandwiches and Salads and Cruisers – burgers and pizza.
